About Menjangan Island

Menjangan Island sits off the northwest coast of mainland Bali. It is part of the West Bali National Park. The island has no accommodations or restaurants. All visits are strictly day trips.

The island gets its name from the wild Javan deer that live there. They frequently swim in the shallow waters or rest on the white-sand beaches. The surrounding reefs feature steep vertical drop-offs.

You must hire a certified national park guide to visit. Read more about Ticket Prices Explained or discover the Top Dive Sites.

Joe was a great guide. Made sure he showed us certain creatures in the sea— eel, Nemo fish, sea cucumber, turtles, blue starfish. The current gave us an easy snorkel experience with the boat picking us up where we ended. The coral wall is spectacular! A MUST see while in Bali. Bali dive academy is very professional!! I just snorkeled but am sure the diving experience would be awesome as well.

A great day with some fantastic snorkelling. Saw some beautiful corals and the fish were amazing, we even found Nemo hiding in soft coral.

very well organised with friendly crew who knew what to do and were very safety conscious. Weather wasn't great on one side of the island so they took us to other spots so that we had the best chance to see everything. We had plenty of time for snorkelling with the option to return to the boat at any time

Amazing solo snorkeling trip. Great guide, friendly driver. Highly recommend. It’s a long drive from Ubud, bring a snack for the ride back.

This amazing trip was made all the better with our driver and our guides. The drive was huge but worth every second of swimming in crystal clear clean waters and seeing the most amazing array of fish. Avatar ocean!

The experience is great, giving it’s my first dive. Given a brief explanation however the diver is next to me all the time to ensure I am safe while still able to enjoy the dive. A mask is misplaced/lost however upon understanding the situation they didn’t charge us. We are grateful for their understanding. Overall it’s a good experience
