Menjangan Island offers more than just underwater environments. Before you take the boat ride, you will pass through the official national park entry points on the mainland. Once on the island, a few key landmarks stand out above the water.
Because there are absolutely no accommodations or restaurants on the uninhabited island, your visit will be a day trip. You will spend your surface intervals on the beaches or viewing the island's temple.

Menjangan is surrounded by untouched white-sand beaches. These areas are where the island's resident wild Javan deer are often seen resting or swimming in the shallows. Use these beaches for your surface intervals between snorkeling or diving sessions.

This significant ancient Hindu temple features traditional Balinese architecture and a prominent statue of Lord Ganesha looking out to sea. It serves as a cultural landmark on the otherwise natural island. If you plan to step ashore and visit the temple, you must wear a sarong and sash as a sign of respect.

Labuhan Lalang is the official mainland gateway and visitor center for West Bali National Park. This is where you organize your park entry, marine permits, and mandatory certified guide before chartering a wooden boat out to the island. Arrive early in the morning to handle your paperwork and hire your guide before the midday heat sets in.
